PYLONS AND TOTEMS

Pylons and totems are a special part of illuminated advertising, there has been a long-standing dispute about what a pylon and what a totem are. ISA Praha a.s. calls a pylon a product that stands at a gas station and displays the price of fuel, or other information. Everything else is a totem. In the case of light pylons and totems, LED diodes are used for the lighting elements, in the case of price totems they are equipped with LED displays. Pylons and totems are used in advertising to mark gas stations using LED displays of descriptions, or as entrance markings for shopping centers and parks and other larger groups of mostly commercial spaces, but also where it is necessary to mark an object from a great distance, which is why pylons and totems are often very monumental structures.

Pylons and totems mainly consist of a steel or aluminum structure, sheathed with aluminum sheet or ACM boards in the desired colors. Another subgroup is column pylons, which is a tubular column, where at the end of the pylon there is usually a double-sided light panel, or several light panels one below the other. One of the variants is a triangular pylon, where panels or 3D letters are hung around its perimeter as needed.
